I stayed here for three nights and unfortunately found it quite disappointing overall. The 4-bed dorm was extremely small — honestly, it felt cramped even with just two people trying to move around or organise their belongings at the same time. The bed itself was average, but the pillows were particularly uncomfortable and felt overdue for replacement. Unlike many modern hostels, there were no charging ports or power outlets near the bed, meaning I had to leave my phone charging across the room. The Wi-Fi was acceptable in the dorm, but it was virtually unusable in the bar/café area. As someone needing to do some work while travelling, this was frustrating and forced me to spend time in local cafés and the library instead. The biggest issue during my stay was a large group of approximately 100 teenagers (around 14–15 years old) on an international school trip. They were frequently running through the hallways, screaming late into the night, pulling fire alarms, and playing pranks. I understand that hostels come with a certain level of noise, but this was by far the worst experience I've had in any hostel. It significantly impacted my ability to sleep and enjoy my stay. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, although the level of service wasn't consistent across all team members. Considering the price, I don't feel the experience offered good value for money. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to others.

The stay was nice and comfortable. Unlike other hostels they don’t have a kitchen to be used 24/7 to that was an issue. We couldn’t get any water, I am sure that would be amazing to have an access to it. Otherwise the vibe and stay was quite good.

Good location. That's the only good thing here. Maybe im not accustomed to London but the place is very small and very hot. Like extremely so. The toilet is like 1 per floor which is around maybe 20~30 rooms shares 1 toilet which includes 4 shower but my floor has only 1 shower working. Crazy. If you get like the room at the very end of the corridor you would have to walk very far to it like I did.

I had an amazing time at Generator Hostel in London! From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The entire crew was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made my stay even more special. A special thank you to Joao — he was exceptionally kind, always smiling, and genuinely happy to help with anything. His warm attitude and professionalism truly made a difference and made me feel at home. I highly recommend Generator Hostel to anyone visiting London, no matter your age. It’s a fantastic place with great vibes and wonderful people. I would definitely stay here again!

I'll start with the good; the guy who runs the bar area is brilliant. He works so hard and is lovely. That's where the good ends. The rooms are terrible, I was in a private 2 person room and it was like a sauna. Windows don't open fully, no air circulation and some genius put no plug sockets near the bed. The bathroom is designed as a wetroom but had no airation so once you showered you could only go back wearing shoes due to how wet the floor was. Asked 3 times for more toilet roll, was assured it'd be given and never was. Had to buy our own tissue because even basic tasks are beyond their cleaning team. They couldn't empty the bin or replace towels but always made the bed! They have aircon set to accomodate penguins in the bar but upstairs is like a furnace. Clearly couldn't be bothered to run pipes to all floors for aircon. There is 1 lift in the whole place and it doesn't work properly. They claim to have disabled access but a steep ramp and a crappy lift is hardly accessible. Whole place feels like it's designed to fleece tourists once. Because no one returns a second time. I don't blame the staff, but the owner is a disgrace.
